This week in Mrs Hanten's room we made ornaments.A lot of people liked it. We are also making a pretend job application. The application was for a job at Santa's work shop as a elf. We also have been making brochures and posters to make up a place like if you wanted to take a trip to the hotel at the north pole. We also have been doing studying about explorers.

This Week

This week we started a new unit In social studies.We took a test on Monday about the Midwest! Every one is doing a good job working hard this week. On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving we are having a potluck which is where we all bring a dish to pass and share it with our friends. This month's character trait is thankfulness. Showing how thankful you are by saying thank you or showing that you are thankful like making good choices. Today we sent letters to our favorite authors like Megan McDonald or Patricia Polacco. Some people even did J.K. Rowling. Good job everyone, keep up the good work

The fun day

Today for music we sang "Lets Make Music Together" We did a lot better and for science we watched built by the science guy about skeletons in our body it was funny we started to laugh. :) A lot of us finished the fire poster. They all look super good. We all went to the computer lab so we can finish the story so we can make it into a book.

Last week were having science class and mrs. haten announced that we were going to disect chicken wings so we got in groups and we put on gloves. We put on gloves so we did not get sick and we cut the skin off and we poked and tested out the chicken. The whole point of this project was to see the muscle and how the bones worked in a chicken wing in my group was: Ashley, holly, Cora, and I. We had so much fun doing this project! I hope we can do more experiments like this. -Sami

Counteract

This week we had counteract and Mr. Poltrock came in and he talked to us about violence, alcohol, drugs and bullying. He gave us homework for our parents. We also learned about what to do if someone offers you something bad or asks you to do something wrong and against the law. Here are some of the steps we learned:1. check it out: ask open-ended questions, name the trouble( " That's ---------------------- ––———––––) 2. Talk about the consiquinces: my parents will self, family, school, community. 3. Suggest a positive activity: (Let's play ----------- ––––––— ) 4. Alternative: follow through, leave,and do the positive thing. Move it, sell it, leve the door open. Mr. Poltrock Also taught us that smoking can cause problems and is bad.i hope you enjoyed learning about counteract.- Paulina

Our day

We are learning about the planets in our solar system. This morning we partnered up and did a work sheet. It was really fun. This afternoon we are going to do counter act. I hope we'll learn lots. An officer is coming in to teach us on obeying the law and staying safe on open streets. This is very exiting to learn so we know how to stay safe and be a good citizen.
